Top Tips, Warwickshire and surrounding area

Eating out with children in Warwickshire…

It’s the one thing I still find myself missing – those long leisurely afternoons spent in a beer garden on a wonderfully sunny summer day or a Sunday roast on a cold winters day snuggled around a log burner in a traditional British pub, perhaps having had a walk beforehand.

These pubs/restaurants (all in Warwickshire or very nearby) have become firm favourites over the years, allowing us to eat out as a family, for us all to enjoy delicious food (that in many cases is locally sourced and seasonal) and/or a drink with the children happy and having fun (win win situation).

(I’ll update this as and when we find new places!). Do you know somewhere that we should try? Do let me know!!

Hillers Farm Shop – This features elsewhere on my blog but it is so fab it deserves all the attention. What more could you ask for…a sandpit, animal hide and beautiful gardens. Mini train rides on certain weekends in the year and delicious home cooked food, all locally sourced (most from the estate) and all very seasonal. It caters for all meal times (delicious breakfasts, light lunches, tea and cake and yummy meals). Booking highly recommended.

Broom Hall Inn, Broom, Warwickshire. A village pub with a wonderful play area. Great spot for a summer drink.

Fish at Wixford, Warwickshire. A river side pub with a wonderful enclosed play area. Funky decor and good food. Plenty of public footpaths lead to this pub! Dogs very welcome.

Fleur dy Llys, Lowensford, Warwickshire. A canal side location with a play park. Nice menu and children’s portions. Famous for its pies! Our children have always been made to feel very welcome here. Booking highly recommended.

The Stag, Redhill, Warwickshire (A46 between Stratford upon Avon and Alcester). Newly built play park and plenty of parking. Standard pub fare but staff very friendly. Rooms also available.

RSC Rooftop Restaurant, Stratford upon Avon. Again, featured elsewhere on the blog, this gem warrants a further mention…the afternoon teas are amazing! The menu itself is also great, lovely fresh and seasonal food. Nice Children’s menu. Great views and easily combined with a trip up the theatre tower or a day out in Stratford.

The Farm, Snitterfield – a new addition to the area. It has a wonderful cafe (equipped with children’s play area) serving yummy food. There is also a fab outdoor play area and on warmer days you can spot the resident pigs! The farm shop is equally lovely. Also worth checking out their diverse range of seasonal events, cooking classes etc
