Budapest with children

April 2023 We've just returned from the most amazing short break to Budapest, Hungary. It's a city I, Charlotte, have been to before but this was our first trip as a family. Accommodation As usual, we checked into a fab Airbnb right in the centre of the city (2 minutes from St. Stephen's Basilica). We… Continue reading Budapest with children

A day in Bonn with children

In October 2023, we visited Aachen for three nights, taking the Eurotunnel and stopping in Leuven and Ghent for waffles. Our well-equipped Airbnb served as a great base for exploring Bonn, including the Haribo Factory Shop and Beethoven's House. Bonn's charming architecture and bakeries made for a delightful family trip.

Given the circumstances, and somewhat reluctantly, we planned to holiday (yet again!) in the UK. It should be known that I… Continue reading A stay near La Rochelle

A day in Ghent with children

**Updated November 2023** Overshadowed by the much more popular Bruges (we've taken the children on several occassions!) this beautiful, undiscovered gem is well worth a visit (with or without children!). It has all the charm of Bruges but with a quirky edge that makes it very appealing. Parking in Ghent We've now been to the… Continue reading A day in Ghent with children
